Small Footprint Biocompatible Antenna for Implantable Devices: Design, In-Silico, In-Vitro and Ex-Vivo Testing

In this paper, a miniaturized skin implantable biocompatible microstrip antenna is proposed for biotelemetry applications at 2.4–2.48 GHz. The volume of the 42.68 mm3 with dimensions 8.2 × 6.94 0.75 mm3. Rogers RO Duroid 3010 0.25 mm thickness used designing antenna. This material also as superstrate to cover from both sides provide safety patients. Further, specific absorption rate (SAR) analyzed and found 552 W/Kg 73.2 1 g- 10 g-averaged tissue, respectively, an operating frequency 2.45 GHz, which makes it biocompatible. An appreciable factor 9371.8 achieved good percentage bandwidth 16.1%. In-silico, in-vitro ex-vivo testing performed proper validation be functional ISM band, best suitable devices.
